Community under one canopy

Welcome to the Humber Forest

Humber Forest isn’t a single ‘forest’ covering an area. It’s the combined greatness of all the trees, woodlands and hedgerows growing in Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire.

What’s more, it’s a community forest – and it’s growing all the time.

What we do

In a nutshell, we help communities, farmers, landowners, and businesses to plant trees in the easiest and most effective way possible, at no cost.

Where we are

Humber Forest covers Hull, North Lincolnshire and the whole of the East Riding of Yorkshire, from Snaith to Stamford Bridge, Flamborough to Spurn, and everywhere in between.

Why trees?

Trees are vital. Not only to the natural world, but to us humans, too. They nourish our health and wellbeing, bring joy and prosperity to our communities, and sustain the planet on which we depend. Community forestry is about maximising all these benefits.

Get involved

Interested in planting trees on your land? As the East Riding is mostly high-grade arable farmland, or under pressure for development, we understand that active and willing participation of farmers, land managers and landowners is essential to improving the canopy cover in the area, helping alleviate flooding, improve soil quality and reduce compaction.
